Nordson is a market leader in precision dispensing, coatings & testing technologies. Founded in 1954 by engineer and inventor Eric Nord, the business (headquartered in Cleveland, Ohio) is listed on the NASDAQ stock exchange and generates $2bn in global revenues. Their ambition was to unite this global business under a common brand vision.

Direction

With six business divisions employing over 6000 people across 30 countries, Nordson had become globally disconnected due to its own success. Silo mentality and multiple marketing teams had led to fragmentation in culture and communications. We needed to deliver a clear brand proposition and updated identity system to renew global consistency.

Transformation

Our detailed research included staff and customer interviews across six countries and site visits in the UK, USA and Germany. We conducted strategy workshops at Nordson HQ involving around twenty members of the senior management team to transform the entire organisation around a single-minded brand proposition of Performance by Design.
