Studio North’s work, rebranding the NHS Litigation Authority to NHS Resolution, won three silver awards at last night’s tenth annual Transform Awards Europe. Our excellence in rebranding and brand development was recognised in a room brimming with industry specialists.

 

Established in 2009, the Transform Awards has evolved into a celebration of the remarkable talent that exists within the branding sphere. Covering Asia-Pacific, the Middle East, North America and Europe, the Transform brand itself is truly global, with no other outlet as committed to providing such comprehensive coverage of the brand environment.

Since the inaugural event, Studio North has managed to win fourteen awards, including four golds and six silvers, making it the most awarded brand agency in the north west of England. This year we excelled in the following categories:-

  • Best brand development project to reflect changed mission, values or positioning
  • Best brand consolidation
  • Best naming strategy

In the hotly-contested last category, we were immensely proud to be sharing the podium with some of the world’s most renowned brand agencies, Landor, Siegel+Gale and Living Group.

The successful project began with discussions between the Secretary of State and the Department of Health to consider proposals for a new name for the NHS Litigation Authority (NHSLA). They wanted to bring clarity to its evolving purpose, role and multiple service offer. The strategic focus was to move towards an organisation focused more than ever on prevention, learning and early intervention to address the rising costs of harm in the NHS. The preferred new name was NHS Resolution.

We designed a robust process that would explore alternatives and rigorously test if NHS Resolution was fit for purpose. Beyond this, an equally critical mission was to define the service names that would sit underneath the NHS Resolution umbrella. Led by agency owner and strategy director, Nick Wright, our research team embarked on an extensive program of stakeholder engagement to canvas opinions across the various operating arms of the organisation, plus gathered the views from external service users around the consequences of changing the service names.

Working within wider NHS guidelines, the creative team then picked up the baton, creating a strong brand identity for NHS Resolution. Post-rebrand, we also assisted the executive team at NHS Resolution in delivering the new brand at conferences and seminars around the country – also producing a communications plan to launch and embed the new brand.

The Transform Awards Europe ceremony, hosted by Paul McCaffrey, was held in The Brewery, London.
