Back to Work The challenge

Over 5 billion aluminium drinks cans are sold every year in the UK. Every one can be recycled and be back on the shelf within 6 weeks. Alupro developed an initiative designed to make it easy for businesses and schools to recycle cans, and to encourage recycling by individuals ‘on the go’. Our initial challenge was to create a brand identity for the initiative, and to generate sign-ups to be part of the cause!

Creating the brand

Nearly 90% of drinks cans sold in the UK are made up of aluminium. Recycling just one tonne of the stuff saves 9 tonnes of CO2. So for us the message was simple - Every Can Counts.

Can Film Festival

Teaming up with People and the Planet, we targeted students during 'Go Green Week'. If they brought 2 empty cans, they got free entry to a film. The now legendary 'Can Film Festival' was born.

 

The Creative ExtravaCANza

Every summer, the team get knee deep in music festival mud. To push recycling, our Creative ExtravaCANza got partygoers to do something creative with a can and upload for people to vote.
